Oct. 6 is deadline to apply for open City Council seat

Residents interested in public service have exactly two weeks to apply for a seat on the Steamboat Springs City Council. Council member Kevin Kaminski resigned from his seat Tuesday. Kaminski announced the resignation in August, after he and his family purchased a new home outside of District 3, which Steamboat voters elected Kaminski to represent in November 2005. The City Charter requires council members to live in the district they are elected to represent.

As an under-sized 1A school playing against larger 2A opponents, North Park volleyball coach Randy Hodgson feels fortunate to have size and experience on his sideline. Having lost only one starter from last season, the tall and talented Wildcats (9-1 overall, 4-0 in league) showed some veteran swagger in their Thursday match at Soroco, winning in three games, 25-19, 25-4, 25-13.
