Free Hepatitis A,B vaccines available
Free Twinrix (Hepatitis A and B) vaccinations are available to adults 18 and older who have certain risk factors and have not previously completed these vaccinations. Eligible recipients include adults who have had more than one sexual partner in the past six months, have had a recent STD, use illegal, injectable drugs or those who are from a less-developed country. Call the VNA at 879-1632 to receive vaccination protection against hepatitis. The VNA office is at 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101.
Annual Literary Sojourn set for Oct. 14
The Literary Sojourn is Oct. 14 at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort. Steamboat's 14th annual festival of readers and authors features 2006 Pulitzer Prize winner Geraldine Brooks, Myla Goldberg, Eric Larson, Stewart O'Nan, Lisa See and master of ceremonies Erin McKean.

Volunteers needed to help local families with babies
The Newborn Network is looking for volunteers to spend between two and four hours each month helping local families with newborn children. Volunteers, at the request of interested families, will visit homes to provide information about community resources and child development as well as give a gift bag to the family. Hospice and Palliative Care Services of Northwest Colorado is seeking new hospice volunteers. The upcoming hospice training schedule is from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 7.
