Man arrested on DUI charges after rollover accident

A 23-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving. Police said the man lost control of the car he was driving near Mount Werner Road and Routt County Road 14.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Tonya Cowan said the driver, Benjamin Smith of Denver, and his four passengers were not injured in the accident.

Cowan said Smith lost control of a 2002 black Pontiac sedan as he was driving north on Mount Werner Road. The car went into a ditch, crossed a set of railroad tracks and rolled over. The car came to a rest on its passenger side after it hit an embankment, Cowan said.
