Students gather supplies to send military packages
Steamboat Springs Middle and High School students are putting together care packages to send to U.S. military troops stationed overseas. Dubbed "Operation Sending Smiles," the students are seeking donations of money, prepackaged snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, beef jerky, trail mix, nuts, socks, long-sleeve shirts, blankets, movies (DVDs), music (CDs), magazines and prepaid calling cards (so troops can call home).
All donations can be dropped off at Johnny B. Good's in downtown Steamboat Springs. Call Ashton or Sheila Palmer at 736-8379.
