Larry D. Fuchs, 53, died Oct. 14, 2006, in Tualatin, Ore., after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma.
Larry was born Sept. 9, 1953, in Warrensburg, Mo., to Lee and Claudine Fuchs. He was raised in Missouri and Colorado, where he attended school. Following high school, Larry served his country for three years in the Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne.
On June 12, 1976, Larry married Mary Jean Paxton in Oak Creek and they were blessed with two children, David and Stephanie.
For the past 16 years, Larry and Mary lived in Juneau, Alaska, where he was employed as the maintenance supervisor for Greens Creek Mining Company. He worked as a miner for 27 years in Colorado, Wyoming and Alaska.
He loved life, he loved his family and he loved to fish, hunt, garden and drink beer. He was a people person and was never afraid to try new adventures.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jean; son, David (Shammy) of Juneau, Alaska; daughter, Stephanie (Jack) of Sweet Springs, Mo.; grandchildren, Isabel, Eddy and Shadai of Juneau, Alaska, and Melody of Sweet Springs, Mo.; brothers, Dick (Chris) of Santa Fe, N.M., Steve (Cora Lee) of Sweet Springs, Mo., and Tony of Concordia, Mo.; brothers-in-law, Bill (Ginny) of Oak Creek, Otto of Denver, Glenn (Debt) of Grand Junction, Jim (Christy) of LaPorte and Ed (Penney) of Oak Creek; sister-in-law, Eunice (Mike) Linton of Craig; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Oct. 21, 2006, in Sweet Springs, Mo., and on Oct. 28, 2006, in Juneau, Alaska. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of your choice.
