The education of our children is the responsibility of everyone in the Steamboat Springs community. Adequately paid personnel and safe, well-designed buildings are basics for optimum education.
Fifty-one-year-old Soda Creek Elementary School is outdated and poorly designed for 21st-century learning. It is patchwork at best, and it's time to replace it. Strawberry Park Elementary School has used separate, temporary classrooms for nearly 20 years to house growing numbers of students. From both an educational and security standpoint, it is now vital that permanent space be added putting all students in classrooms under one roof.
Pass the school bond issues this election, because the problems will not go away. The needs are genuine, and building costs continue to rise. A "yes" vote on questions 3C and 3D allows our community to meet the obligations of our society to provide the safest and best education possible. Whether you are 18 or 80, vote "yes" on 3C and 3D.
