4:11 a.m. A light blue Oldsmobile reportedly left a gas station in the 1800 block of Kamar Plaza without paying for gas.

7:01 a.m. Routt County Search and Rescue crews began searching for a 54-year-old missing hunter near Stucky Creek in California Park. The man was not found Tuesday night, and searchers returned to look for him Wednesday.

7:50 a.m. A 19-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of theft after he reportedly stole money from a business in the 100 block of Trafalgar Drive.

9:08 a.m. A burglary was reported in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. The store's owner said there was money missing from the business, but that she did not see any sign of forced entry and that the doors to the business were locked. The incident is under investigation.

9:17 a.m. A woman near Lincoln Avenue and Walton Creek Road reportedly saw "an elderly man who looked like he had just been released from the hospital was hitchhiking." The man was gone when officers arrived.

9:19 a.m. A trailer carrying four all-terrain vehicles reportedly was left abandoned for several days in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue.

12:57 p.m. A "huskador" dog was running loose in the 1200 block of Turning Leaf Court.

1:06 p.m. A pink bicycle was found leaning against a wall on 11th Street.

2:27 p.m. A 55-year-old man was taken to the hospital from the 800 block of Howelsen Parkway.

4:44 p.m. A truck reportedly passed a car in the 1800 block of Kamar Plaza and knocked the sideview mirror off another car. A report was taken.

4:54 p.m. A man was concerned that his ex-roommate was picking up and opening his mail at the U.S. Post Office.

5:16 p.m. A woman in the 700 block of Yampa Street reportedly saw a drunken man get into a gray truck. A resident told police he contacted the man and told the man not to drive, and that the man said he wouldn't. The man said the drunken man "sounded like a pirate." The man was gone when officers arrived.

5:47 p.m. A woman was concerned she couldn't get a hold of her elderly mother in the 1100 block of Manitou Avenue. Police told the daughter her mother was going to Denver.

6:08 p.m. A woman near Eighth Street and Lincoln Avenue told police an ex-employee was threatening her and trying to start a fight.

6:44 p.m. Five intoxicated Steamboat Springs High School students were issued minor in possession tickets at the high school.

5:16 p.m. "drunken man sounded like a pirate" - We just love reading the record first thing in the morning. It never fails to get a laugh or two... only in Steamboat. Seems like it would be hard to miss a guy with a parrot on his shoulder...ha ha
