Search continues for missing hunter
Routt County Search and Rescue crews continued their search this morning for a missing hunter thought to be in the California Park area near the Moffat County border.

During a candidates forum in Oak Creek on Tuesday, Republican Routt County sheriff candidate Garrett Wiggins said he would continue to support a local drug task force if elected, while Democratic sheriff candidate Gary Wall said he doesn't know enough about the Greater Routt and Moffat Narcotics Enforcement Team, or GRAMNET, to commit to a stance; the Steamboat Springs City Council denied a revised housing plan for One Steamboat Place; It appears a downtown coffee shop will not be returning, at least not as Mocha Molly's; and the Sailors volleyball team beat Moffat County in four games. Council demands more affordable housing on-site
It's back to the drawing board, again, for One Steamboat Place. With a 4-1 vote, the Steamboat Springs City Council denied a revised housing plan for the resort-oriented project Tuesday night, citing a need for more affordable housing units in the 440,000-square-foot, residential and commercial development planned for a 4-acre site at the base of Steamboat Ski Area, adjacent to the ski area's gondola building and AprÃs Ski Way.

It appears a downtown coffee shop will not be returning, at least not as Mocha Molly's. A "For Rent" sign is now posted beside the "closed until further notice" sign in the front window of the 1,300-square-foot space in Old Town Square, 635 Lincoln Ave.
Cause of hunter's death still unclear
A hunter who died Monday morning in a remote area of California Park has been identified as 42-year-old Michael Wayne Fanaris of Champlin, Minn.
Two applicants up for School Board seat
Board to appoint someone to fill vacant seat during meeting Monday
Laura Anderson and Jerry Kozatch have been volunteering in the Steamboat Springs School District for years. On Monday, the two will interview for the District 5 seat on the Steamboat Springs School Board, which was vacated when Tom Miller-Freutel resigned Aug. 28. The School Board is scheduled to appoint a new member following the interviews.

12:35 a.m. A 33-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested near Fifth Street and Lincoln Avenue on suspicion of violating his bail bond conditions, possessing a Schedule 2 controlled substance and violating a restraining order.
