The band, which generally plays funk rock with jazz influences, has traveled the world performing for military personnel. Town Board members Angie Kralj KenCairn and Steve "Spike" Beven were scheduled to address the Town Board during its meeting, and Town Board member Tom Bleuer spoke after he was added to an amended agenda.

School district reserves increase

Hayden accepts $345,000 in mineral lease money from county

The Hayden School District began the 2006-07 school year with $554,805 in its reserves, or beginning fund balance, compared to $294,758 in reserves in 2005, business manager Jnl Linsacum said. This year, the district took in $345,000 in mineral lease money from Routt County. Mineral lease money is money the county collects from companies that drill in the Hayden School District.

KRMR radio switches from talk to country music

KRMR radio, on the dial at 100.5 and 107.3 FM, changed its programming Monday from talk radio to country music. The station is now known as "The Range" and has discarded well-known, national talk-radio hosts including Don Imus, Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura Schlessinger in favor of country stars such as Garth Brooks, Gretchen Wilson and Toby Keith.

Trees invade Hayden home

Town manager orders cottonwoods removed within 30 days

Hayden tree lovers might have to bid farewell to three of the town's oldest cottonwoods. The roots from three cottonwood trees that help form a canopy over the east end of town along U.S. Highway 40 have invaded the basement of a home, and similar problems could happen elsewhere.
