Jerry Rudolph: Listen to Byrd

Does the Bush administration want to be the leaders of a totally controlled world empire? Sadly, they appear to want everything.

As longtime Sen. Robert C. Byrd, D-West Virginia, wrote in his last letter requesting contributions for the upcoming election:

"If the history of republics present and past teaches one consistent lesson, sure it is this: Tyranny rarely arrives on the scene in a sudden and dramatic moment that stirs the hearts of all patriots, and liberties are never usurped in a single outrageous act that arouses the public ire.

"No, freedom disappears slowly, fading away under the cover of night, wrapped in the flag and cloaked in the rhetoric of crisis. One by one they disappear - each deprivation a seemingly reasonable step - until suddenly they are gone, and the time for citizens to rise up has fled."

As an old Ku Klux Clan member, Robert Byrd should know about tyranny. Bush isn't a great leader but at least he's standing up to the muslim radicals.....the democrats give them aid and comfort and care nothing about defending our country. Osama & company will cheer loudly if the democrats get back in power....there are no great leaders that I know of....we're in deep trouble with the current crop of weenie poilticians....Lard help us all....

Hey Jerry

Which freedoms & liberties has Bush deprived you of? Are you capable of speaking for yourself, or do you only express yourself through former Klansmen?
