Resort town seminar scheduled for December
Jonathon Schechter of Jackson, Wyo., will present "Dynamics of Growth in Resort Communities" and how it applies in Routt County during seminars in Steamboat Springs in early December.
Schechter is executive director of the Charture Institute, a nonprofit organization devoted to providing accurate, objective, comprehensive and comparative data about America's places of ecological and aesthetic significance. The Institute aims to help citizens and leaders make informed and thoughtful choices for the future of their communities.
Schechter's presentations are directed to resort communities. His talks will include how communities deal with the pace and magnitude of change, and he will also address how a lack of understanding about the forces underlying that growth and change impacts those decisions.
Schechter will present from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Centennial Hall. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., and a discussion of "Models of Change" is at 7 p.m.
A second presentation is from 8 to 10 a.m. Dec. 5 at Centennial Hall.
