— Referendum 3D, a $29.7 million bond issue for Steamboat Springs schools, had a sizable lead according to numbers reported Tuesday.

With 5,211 votes tallied, 1,974 voters or 57 percent voted yes for 3D. The remaining 1,485 voters or 43 percent voted no.

The ballot initiative would rebuild Soda Creek Elementary School and renovate and expand Strawberry Park Elementary.
