Democrat Mike Kerrigan has a big early lead in the race for Routt County Assessor.
Of the 2,486 early votes, representing just over 16 percent of registered voters in Routt County, Kerrigan tallied 1,396 votes, or 57 percent.
Republican Dick Klumker is a distant second with 567 votes, or 23 percent. Unaffiliated candidate Nancy Terry is currently third with 474 votes, or 19 percent of the early votes cast.
Final election results could come in later than expected Tuesday night, due to long lines at the polls and many voters still waiting to cast ballots as of 8:30 p.m.
