Incumbent Democrat John Salazar appeared headed for another term in Congress Tuesday night.

With 14 percent of the precinct reporting, Salazar led Republican Scott Tipton 56 percent to 42 percent. Libertarian Bert Sargent had 2 percent.

The heated race between Republican Marilyn Musgrave and Angie Paccione was a dead heat. Both candidates had 45 percent of the vote with 16 percent of the precincts in.

Bill Ritter had a commanding lead in the governor's race. Coloradans were supporting an amendment to ban gay marriage and were opposed to an amendment to legalize marijuana.
