Wendy's holding holiday food drive

The Steamboat Springs Wendy's Restaurant, in conjunction with the Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies, is holding a Holiday Food Drive throughout November. Wendy's will accept nonperishable food items as well as personal care items, including such things as shampoo, toothpaste and deodorant.

"What's donated in the community stays in the community," said Denise Potterton, area marketing director for Wendy's. "The Steamboat food drive will benefit LIFT-UP of Routt County and the Routt County Council on Aging."

People who bring two or more items to Wendy's in November will receive a free small chocolate or vanilla frosty. JACK FM will be at Wendy's from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 for a special promotion in which free combo meals will be given to donors depending on how many items they contribute.

Wendy's is sponsoring similar drives in Craig, Montrose, Delta and Grand Junction.
