'Off The Grid'
It was larger than life, but maybe that's because I was sitting in the second row. I don't ever remember a Warren Miller movie having such an IMAX feeling to it.
Maybe it was the cold air outside and the skiing tension you could feel in the air like frostbite, but every eager skier, snowboarder and telemarker sat on the edge of his seat during the showing of Warren Miller's "Off The Grid" last week.
The emcee said the 9 p.m. show was the rowdiest, and we were. People yelled, cheered and awed at the ultimate in snowball fights, skiing, snowboarding and, yes, monoskiing.
We watched Jamie Pierre break the world record by jumping off a 245-foot cliff. That's like jumping off a 24-story building.
Thank God there was an intermission, because I don't think I could have watched the entire movie straight through. It was too intense.
