Steamboat Springs Ethics and related issues will be the topic of discussion tonight as Oak Creek Town Board's two newest members receive their new board member orientation from town attorney Bob Weiss.
Oak Creek Town Clerk Karen Halterman said Weiss presents a new board orientation every time a new member is elected to the board.
"He does a basic ethics-type talk," she said.
The Town Board's agenda is a relatively light one consisting of several project updates and requests, Halterman said.
Oak Creek Mayor Kathy "Cargo" Rodeman is out of town and will not be at tonight's meeting. Mayor Pro-Tem J. Elliott will run the meeting in her place.
Public Works Director Jim Photos is scheduled to discuss refurbishing the town's street sweeper. The Town Board opted not to purchase a machine that was for sale in Grand Junction.
Photos also is scheduled to request purchasing aerators for the town's water lagoons, Halterman said.
The Town Board also is scheduled to:
Discuss clarifying the town's community service procedures. The town has had many requests from people who want to do community service in Oak Creek.
Discuss current town efforts to collect overdue water, electric and sewer bills from residents.
Discuss allowing town employees to use sick time in one-hour increments instead of the four- and eight-hour time blocks the town currently permits.
Approve the Town Board's minutes from May 11.
Approve the town's ac----counts payable for May.
