County construction pictures available online

People who want to see progress of Routt County building projects don't need to go to the sites. The county is posting online pictures of construction at the new justice center and the airport. The pictures are available at Click on "BCC" to see construction of the justice center and click on "Airport" to see pictures of the airport.

Spring Creek Trail closed temporarily on weekdays

Sections of the Spring Creek Trail will be closed today through early next week, on weekdays only. The trail is closed to through traffic while crews work, according to the city of Steamboat Springs' parks, open space and recreational services office.

Sign up by Thursday for weed management training

The Routt County Weed Control Program and the Colorado State University Cooperative Extension Office are giving a joint training class about noxious weed management. The classes start at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays through June 1. During the final class, participants will take a private pesticide applicator license test. The class is $25; call 879-0825 by Thursday to sign up.

Volunteers needed to judge student projects

Community members are needed to help evaluate Senior Projects at Steamboat Springs High School. Judges are needed from 8:15 a.m. to noon and from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday. To sign up or for more information, call Barb Parnell at 879-8761.

Golf tournament benefits Steamboat golf program

Registration is under way for the Sailors Golf Shoot-out Tournament, a fundraiser for the Steamboat Springs High School golf program. The tournament begins at 12:15 p.m. June 19 at Catamount Ranch and Club with a shotgun start. It is a modified best ball, four-person team format. The cost is $150 a person, which includes 18 holes of golf, use of a cart and the range, lunch and post-tournament snacks. The tournament also will feature a live auction and a variety of contests. Class of 1996 seeking members for reunion

The Steamboat Springs High School class of 1996 is trying to find alumni for its 10th reunion. Class members, parents, or anyone interested should e-mail Meghan McNasby at or Jenny Ellison at with your name and address. The reunion is the weekend of June 30.
