A memorial service for Josephine Arlene Selbe is at 11 a.m. Monday, May 22, at the United Methodist Church, Eighth and Oak streets in Steamboat Springs. The wrong date appeared in Saturday's and Monday's Steamboat Today.

Volunteers sought for Art Council's docent program

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is seeking volunteers for its docent program. SAC docents are trained volunteers who staff the Depot Art Center galleries, help interpret and explain exhibits and encourage visitor interaction with the artwork, furthering the mission of the Steamboat Springs Arts Council. hey help with unpacking exhibit items, hanging shows and hosting opening receptions. ocents also coordinate the annual Studio Tour and facilitate the "Art for Seniors" program at the Doak Walker Care Center.

Docents are available to lead guided tours of the exhibits to schools and groups if requested. ocents meet monthly for seminars as well as occasional field trips.
Docents continue their arts education by attending the monthly art seminars and gallery talks by presenting artists and exhibition judges, and participating in docent sponsored field trips. -mail or call 879-9008, ext. 106.

Relay for Life planning committee seeks members

Steamboat Springs' Relay for Life, an American Cancer Society fundraiser, is seeking volunteers for the event's planning committee. Subcommittees include team recruitment, logistics, corporate sponsorship recruitment, survivors lap and ceremony, luminaria sales and ceremony and food and entertainment. Library seeks book lovers to join group of readers

Bud Werner Memorial Library's book club is encouraging new members to join. The club meets every four to six weeks and is facilitated by Michelle Dover, the library's circulation manager. Third Battle of the Bands is Saturday at the Grand

The third annual Teen Battle of the Bands is Saturday at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel. Tony Counts, aka "Kat in tha Hat," will emcee the battle.
