Robert Hull: Editor out of touch

I read Scott Stanford's article in the April 27 Steamboat Today regarding naming illegal immigrants. I must say I strongly disagree with you. This issue is a plague on our country.

If your newspaper is going to have a policy of not naming them in pieces written about them, then you shouldn't write about them. By making a conscious decision to not name them in order to protect them, you are actually aiding and abetting lawbreakers.

The two examples you cited in your article were indicated to be "nervous" about being named in pieces written about them. They should be nervous as is usually the case with most people who are doing something illegal. Why don't you travel around the country and see for yourself how pervasive and serious the problem of illegal immigration is. Then, maybe you would no longer have the touchy-feely liberal viewpoint that you seem to have. You do seem to be out of touch with this problem.
