Steamboat student makes dean's list

Steamboat Springs resident Samuel T. Johnson made the dean's list for the fall 2005 semester at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif., about 25 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

Johnson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Johnson of Steamboat, and he is a graduate of Steamboat Springs High School. He is majoring in political science.

Scholarship deadline coming up Thursday

The deadline to submit applications for Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors scholarships is Thursday. The college scholarships are awarded to area high school seniors based on need, creativity, presentation, leadership in the community and a desire for continuing education. Special education meetings this week

A special education audit of the Steamboat Springs School District is scheduled for Thursday and Friday. A parent focus group is from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Steamboat Springs High School's commons area. Parents of have children with disabilities enrolled in the school district are strongly encouraged to attend the focus group, which is part of the audit. Participants do not need to RSVP. Pee-Wee hoops registration due Tuesday

The Soroco High School boys and girls basketball programs are sponsoring the Pee-Wee Rams basketball program for children in grades three through six. The program runs April 3 to April 27 at South Routt Elementary School in Yampa. The registration deadline is March 28. Call 736-2534 for more information.
