Former Yampa Valley resident Ronald Dean Stewart passed away March 8, 2006, in Sterling. He was 73.
Ronald was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Ponca City, Okla., to Lacey Stewart and Goldie (Daily) Stewart.
Ronald graduated high school in Newkirk, Okla., in 1950. He also attended Oklahoma A&M University. He married Opal Lindsay on Sept. 28, 1956, in Newkirk.
Ronald was self-employed with Stewart's Detailing for more than 30 years. He served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He was a member of the American Legion and a volunteer fireman in Arvada.
He enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lacey and Goldie; and grandson Blane Dean Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Stewart; three sons, Stephen Stewart and his wife, Suzanne, of Sterling, Doug Stewart and his wife, Cindy, of Sterling, and Mark Stewart of Greeley; a daughter, Roni Sue Stewart of Granby; grandchildren Monte Williams, Loren Williams, Ben Stewart, Eli Stewart, Lily Stewart, Darren Stewart, Shannon Stewart; two brothers, Bob Stewart and his wife, Shirley, of Newkirk, Okla., and Russ Stewart and his wife, Barbara, of Rancho Murietta, Calif.; and a brother-in-law, Alfred Lindsay and his wife, Anita, of Peck, Kan.
Visitation was held March 12, 2006, at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling. Funeral services are March 13, 2006, at Tennant Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
