With great sorrow, David and Jill Morin announce the passing of their beloved son, Ben Morin. He was 8.
Ben has family that lives in Steamboat Springs.
He died March 5, 2006, at his home in Spokane, Wash., from complications from injuries he sustained in a canoeing accident June 5, 2005.
He was born Sept. 28, 1997, in Colorado Springs. Ben was known for his beautiful smile, bright blue eyes and cheerful personality. Before his accident, Ben was a first-grader at Mullan Road Elementary School. He was a member of Cub Scout Pack 305. He played baseball, loved sports and spent hours on his swing. He loved playing with his brother and friends, riding his bike, camping and the outdoors, and family activities. He attended Mass and Sunday school at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his parents, David and Jill; a brother, Nicholas; grandparents, Jolene Owens, Don Owens and his wife, Mary Jo, Patricia Johnson and John Morin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including Clay, Melisa and Riley Owens of Hayden and Rob, Darcy, Peyton and Trent Trask of Steamboat Springs.
Funeral Services will be held in Spokane, and Colorado Springs.
The family wishes to thank their friends in the Yampa Valley who sent prayers and held Ben in their thoughts.
