Steamboat Springs Transit reduces regional bus service

Steamboat Springs Transit will reduce its weekend regional bus service from three to two buses a day starting Saturday. The change is being made because of a lack of drivers.

The first and third buses on the regional schedule, which depart at 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., will continue to run, but the 6 a.m. bus will not run on weekends.

George Krawzoff, the city's director of transit and transportation services, apologized for any inconvenience the change may cause.

Conservation and trail easement donated to city

The Ranch at Steamboat Condominium Association recently donated a conservation and trail easement to the city of Steamboat Springs. The City Council accepted the donation this week.

The land, which is between the existing Ranch development and Burgess Creek Road, is ideal habitat for several wildlife species, city officials said. The land will remain as open space, and a trail will be open to pedestrians and bicyclists.
