Chili Cook-Off seeks judges, participants

The fourth annual Great North Routt Chili Cook-off is from 4 to 6 p.m. March 26 at Steamboat Lake Outfitters. Organizers are seeking judges and chili cooks. The categories for judging this year are green chili, red chili, open and dessert. The open category is for milder chilis, white chilis or soup.

Perry-Mansfield schedules scholarship auditions

The Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp will hold open scholarship auditions Saturday for local youths interested in attending its two-week junior camp for students entering the fifth, sixth and seventh grades. Theater and musical theater auditions are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Steinberg Pavilion on the Perry-Mansfield campus off Routt County Road 36. Registration starts at 9 a.m. Dance auditions are from 1 to 3 p.m. at Northwest Ballet, 326 Oak St. in Steamboat Springs, with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Dancers will participate in ballet and jazz classes. Theater and musical theater students should prepare one monologue and one song, each approximately two minutes in length. For more information, call 879-7125.

Community Foundation announces grant changes

The Yampa Valley Community Foundation is changing its grant cycles from four times a year to two times a year. Grant application deadlines for 2006 are March 15 and Sept. 15.y reducing the number of grant cycles, the Community Foundation hopes to award larger grants and target more specific community needs.rganizations can receive funding once per calendar year. Grant applications can be downloaded at www.yvcf.org or picked up at the Community Foundation office. The Community Foundation develops funds to support organizations and innovative programs that preserve traditions and maintain the character of the Yampa Valley. For more information, call 879-8632.

Heralds of Hope fundraiser is planned for March 15

"Heralds of Hope," a fundraiser for Hospice, seeks to bring color and cheer into the lives of local residents. On March 15, daffodils will be for sale at City Market, Safeway, Off the Beaten Path Bookstore, Alpine Floral, Hayden Mercantile, the Clark Store and the Visiting Nurse Association offices for $5 a bunch. Proceeds from daffodil sales will be used to provide hospice care for teminally ill patients in the Yampa Valley.

Comunidad Integrada seeking volunteers

Comunidad Integrada is looking for a volunteer advisory board member to serve as treasurer of the organization.andidates must have at least three years of board management experience, three years accounting or financial management experience and a passion for intercultural exchange and understanding.
