Fund established for Craig cancer patient

Steve Ivers, a husband, father and Craig youth sports coach, recently was diagnosed with cancer. His friends have set up a donation account to help offset the costs of treatment. Donations can be mailed to or dropped off at Moffat County National Bank, 435 Mack Lane, Craig, CO 81625.

Free-concert attendees can donate food to LIFT-UP

Anyone planning to attend Friday's Steamboat Springs Free Concert Series performance at 5:30 p.m. at Howelsen Hill is encouraged to bring cans of non-perishable food items for the LIFT-UP of Routt County food bank. Personal hygiene products such as shampoo and conditioner also will be accepted. For more information, call Erika at 870-8804.

Veterans encouraged to sign up for health system

The Routt County Veterans Affairs Office is encouraging local vets to apply for the VA health system. Local veterans affairs officers Michael Condie said a community-based outpatient clinic for vets could be built in Craig if sufficient use is proven. Having a clinic in Northwest Colorado would eliminate the need for many vets to travel to the Grand Junction VA medical facility.

To sign up for the VA health system, stop by the Veterans Workforce offices in the Sundance at Fish Creek shopping center in Steamboat Springs or the office in Craig. Call 879-5489 or 879-3246.
