July 4 parade entry forms available at visitors center

Fourth of July parade entry forms are available for any person or group interested in entering a float in this year's parade. The theme of the parade is "Honoring our Hometown Heritage." Cancer Education Support Group next meets July 26

The Cancer Education Support Group sponsored by the Visiting Nurse Association will not meet during June. The next meeting will be July 26. Call Katy Thiel at 871-7628.

Motor vehicle transactions to require documents

The process for motor vehicle transactions is about to change. Effective July 1, the Routt County Clerk and Recorder's Office will implement a policy directed by the state Department of Revenue. People will be required to bring secure and verifiable documentation to obtain new vehicle titles, duplicate titles, new registrations, new temporary permits and new disability placards. Secure and verifiable documentation includes valid drivers licenses, U.S. and foreign passports and military IDs. For more information, call 870-5416.

Halverson new president of Mount Werner Water

Jon Halverson has been elected president of the Mount Werner Water and Sanitation District. He also will serve as chairman of the district's board of directors. Also, the board elected Nancy Mayer vice president and Stephen Gale treasurer. Jay Gallagher, manager of the district, remains secretary.

Volunteers sought for annual Balloon Rodeo

Volunteers are needed July 8 and 9 during the 26th annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo in Steamboat Springs. Volunteers will receive an official Hot Air Balloon Rodeo T-shirt. Call 879-0882, ext. 208, or stop by the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association at 1255 S. Lincoln Ave. to sign up.

Llama Trek Fundraiser

set for July 24 to 28

The Flat Tops Llama Trek Fundraiser is July 24 to 28 and includes five days of hiking through the Flat Tops Wilderness Area. Llamas will transport all gear. Participants must be 18 and older. The group size is limited to eight people, and the cost is $600 a person. Call Yampatika at 871-9151.
