¤ The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is seeking volunteers for its docent program. Arts council docents are trained volunteers who staff Depot Art Center galleries, help interpret and explain exhibits and encourage visitor interaction with the artwork, furthering the mission of the arts council. They help with unpacking exhibit items, hanging shows and hosting opening receptions. Docents also coordinate the annual studio tour and facilitate the "Art for Seniors" program at the Doak Walker Care Center. They are available to lead guided tours of the exhibits to schools and groups if requested. Docents meet monthly for seminars and occasional field trips. Docents continue their arts education by attending the monthly art seminars and gallery talks by presenting artists and exhibition judges, and participating in docent-sponsored field trips. ¤ "Spouting Off!" works by 10 local clay artists will be represented at Studio Gallery 27 until Wednesday.
