Spliced line interrupts service

Steamboat Springs Phone and Internet service in parts of Northwest Colorado went out Tuesday evening after a fiber optic cable was reportedly cut.
The outage knocked out some telephone and Internet service in Steamboat Springs and cell phone service for users in Craig and Steamboat.
Representatives from Qwest Communications' service depart------ment said they received a rep--ort that a fiber optic cable in Northwest Colorado was cut Tues----day evening, but they couldn't say where the line was cut or how it happened.
In parts of Steamboat and Craig, Internet and phone service went out just after 7 p.m. and remained out as of press time.
The outage did not knock out 911 service.
Service had been restored by Wednesday morning.
