Longtime Oak Creek resident Julia Trout passed away June 9, 2006, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 63.
Julia was born Dec. 18, 1942, in Grand Haven, Mich., to Helen and Earl Cope.
In 1974, she moved to Oak Creek, where she enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
She married Walter Trout in 1990.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; sister, Judy and her husband, Ed Chevalier, of Ogden, Utah; half-sister, Geneva Outland of Michigan; daughter, Valerie and her husband, Michael Sammon, of Denver; stepdaughter, Cathi (Trout) Iacovetto of Gillette, Wyo.; stepson, Rex Trout and his wife, Tamra, of CaÃ±on City; stepdaughter, Wendy (Trout) and her husband, John Foster, of Montrose; niece, Dorie (Chevalier) and her husband, Mike Sonly, of Indianapolis, Ind.; niece, Shawn (Chevalier) and her husband, Tom Gallegos, of Leadville; grandchildren, Brandon and Alexandria Sammon, Zane and Landon Iacovetto, Jacob, Lindsey and Mason Trout, CJ and Kyle Foster; great nieces, Tierney Gallegos and Grace Sonly; and great nephew, Thomas Gallegos.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. June 26, 2006, in the Soroco High School gymnasium in Oak Creek. Burial of Julia's ashes will follow at Oak Creek Cemetery. Pastor Doug Zirkel of Mission of Grace Baptist Church in Hayden will officiate.
Memorial donations in Julia's honor may be made to the Yampa Valley Medical Center Chemotherapy Center or Routt County Visiting Nurses Association, and condolences or flowers may be sent in Julia's name to Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Ave., Craig, CO 81625.
