Volunteers needed

for Mustang Roundup

Volunteers are needed Saturday to judge more than 400 classic Ford Mustangs during the 18th annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup in downtown Steamboat Springs. Judging will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Lincoln Avenue. Volunteers will receive free 2006 Mustang T-shirts. Applications for grant funds due June 30

Applications for Routt County Museum and Heritage Fund capacity-building grant funds are due June 30 at the Routt County Board of Commissioners Office in the courthouse annex.

Qualified projects must relate to historical preservation and must be sponsored and administered by a qualified museum entity within your district.

The approved museum entities are the town of Yampa, Oak Creek and Phippsburg Historical Society, Tread of Pioneers Museum, Hahn's Peak Historical Society, Historic Routt County and Hayden Heritage Center.

Applications are evaluated on a set of standardized criteria available through the museum entities and specified in the application packet. Call Helena Bond at 879-0108, ext. 315.

Hayden Parks and Rec seeks Summerfest vendors

Hayden's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking vendors for its annual Summerfest, to be held July 4. Any interested vendors can call JD Paul at 276-3741.

Steamboat Hoop Camp from June 26 to 30

The Steamboat Hoop Camp for boys and girls youth basketball players is from June 26 to 30 for rising sixth- through eighth-graders. The camp costs $85. Register by calling Ashley Berggren at 819-1511, or e-mailing aeberggren@aol.com.

Historic Routt County looking for new members

Historic Routt County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the historical character of Routt County communities and rural areas, is looking for new members, volunteers, donations and board members. Among the projects planned for this year are stabilizing the Diamond Window Cabin near Stagecoach Reservoir, conducting a historical property survey of Hayden, maintaining the Toponas Community Club building, and helping property owners prepare nominations of historical buildings to local, state and national historical registers.
