Men arrested on suspicion of baked goods theft
Two Steamboat Springs men were arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor theft Friday morning after they allegedly stole some baked goods from a business' sidewalk.
Steamboat Springs Sgt. Dale Coyner said someone reportedly saw the men, 22-year-old Matthew Talman Ramsey, and 21-year-old Cody David Holly, take $75 worth of baked goods from a sidewalk near Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue.
The baked goods were dropped off by a local bakery that apparently leaves their products on the doorsteps of businesses early in the morning, Coyner said.
Police caught the men near Seventh and Pine streets after the men attempted to run from police, Coyner said.
Before the men were caught, they reportedly threw a bag of the baked goods on a church's doorstep near Seventh and Oak streets.
Ramsey and Holly were taken to the Routt County Jail, where each posted a $120 bond and were released. The men are scheduled to appear in Routt County Court at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 22.
Formor Soroco student graduates with B.A.
Sara Jo Linden graduated from Seattle University on June 11 with her B.A. in Ecological Studies, summa cum laude. Linden was a recipient of the Hazel Wolf Award for highest GPA in Ecological Studies. Linden is a 2002 graduate of Soroco High School and the daughter of Ken and Sheila Linden of Oak Creek. Linden is interning with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration this summer in Seattle.
