Chamber hosting URA informational luncheon

The Steamboat Springa Chamber Resort Association is hosting an informational luncheon about the Urban Renewal Authority's plans for the base area at Mount Werner.

The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Three Peaks Grill. Cost for the luncheon is $18 per person.

Credit and lending seminar is Wednesday

A seminar on Wednesday will provide an overview of the credit scoring system lending sources use to judge borrowers.

The seminar is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Bogue Hall, room 300, at Colorado Mountain College. The $10 fee includes the seminar fee and continental breakfast.

The seminar is a collaborative effort of several business organizations including Business Resource Director, SCORE, Colorado Mountain College Small Business Development Center and the Steamboat Springs Economic Development Council.

Pedersen gets mortgage broker designation

Kathryn Pedersen of First National Bank of Steamboat Springs Mortgages recently earned her Colorado Certified Mortgage Broker designation from the Colorado Association of Mortgage Brokers.

This designation is awarded to individuals who have fulfilled 32 hours of continuing education, despite there being no mandated requirements in Colorado, and who have at least two years of mortgage industry experience.

John Kerst, president and CEO of the bank, said the certification attests to Pederson's commitment to providing quality customer service and ensuring overall satisfaction.
