Radio station looking for listener feedback

The operators of WWFM 91.1 and 92.7 are looking for feedback from listeners. The station recently shut down its 92.7 translator as officials determine whether transmission from an Emerald Mountain tower is needed to provide coverage to the area. WWFM listeners who are experiencing a loss of reception of the classical music station can call Lynn Abbott at 870-6673.

Youth basketball program registration under way

Registration is under way for the city's youth basketball program. The program is for children in the third through sixth grades and runs from March to May.

The program is designed for youths who want to learn more about the fundamentals of basketball in a noncompetitive atmosphere.

Registrations are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration forms can be obtained at the Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department office. Call 879-4300 for more information.

Tread museum operating on high-season schedule

The Tread of Pioneers Museum, 800 Oak St., is operating on its high-season schedule. During the high season, the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Fairgrounds building open for horseback riding

The Routt County Fairgrounds multipurpose building is open to the public for horseback riding. The cost is $5 for two hours. Days and times vary according to the schedules of the volunteer supervisors. The schedule is at www.routtcountyfair.org, or call 276-3068 for more information.

Extension program holding range management school

The Colorado State University Cooperative Extension program will hold a range management school from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Colorado Mountain College's Bogue Hall.

Subjects include grass and shrub growth, environmental influences on grass growth, animal behavior and developing a grazing plan.

Registration is $35 for the first person and $25 for each additional person in a group. The cost includes a resource notebook and range monitoring kit.

Teen Battle of the Bands design contest under way

A contest is under way for a T-shirt and poster design for the third annual Teen Battle of the Bands. The design should include the words "2006 Teen Battle of the Bands."

Suicide support group to meet once a month

Reaching Everyone Prev--enting Suicide, or REPS, is offering a new monthly support group for those who have lost a loved one to or who have been touched by suicide. "Heartbeat of Routt County" will be held the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Visiting Nurse Association office, 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101.
