Friday, Jan. 27

12:32 a.m. A 35-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, possessing an illegal weapon, weaving and having an inappropriate number of passengers in his front seat near Walton Creek Road and U.S. Highway 40.

2:25 a.m. Someone reported a car alarm going off for about 1 1/2 hours near Natures Lane. When officers arrived, they found the owner of the car fixing the problem.

8:34 a.m. A 35-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and weaving. The intoxicated man reportedly hit a car near 13th Street and Lincoln Avenue earlier in the morning and left the scene of the accident. About five minutes later, the man reportedly hit another car near Fifth and Yampa streets, which is when officers found the man and arrested him.

9:59 a.m. A woman reported several dogs running around the Fish Creek Falls mobile-home community. Officers were unable to find the dogs.

11:42 a.m. A 17-year-old boy from Florida reportedly hit an 8-year-old boy from New Jersey while they were skiing on Mount Werner. Officers said both the boys were coming down Lighting ski run when the 17-year-old began slowing to make a turn at the same time the 8-year-old was making a turn. Apparently, neither boy saw the other, and the two collided. The 8-year-old was taken to the hospital to get checked out. The 17-year-old was not injured.

11:54 p.m. Steamboat Springs police officers and Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies received a call from authorities in Boulder County asking them to look for two people the Boulder authorities thought were in the county.

12:48 p.m. Resident advisers at Colorado Mountain College reported smelling marijuana smoke coming from one of the dorm rooms. When the RAs entered the college student's room, they found less than 1 ounce of marijuana. Officers cited the student on suspicion of possessing marijuana.

1:33 p.m. A man in the 13000 block of Routt County Road 51 reported being harassed by a co-worker but didn't want to press criminal charges. The man told officers he would handle the situation internally.

1:49 p.m. An 84-year-old woman was taken from the 1900 block of Anglers Drive to the hospital because she was having chest pains. The first ambulance that was sent to pick up the woman broke down, and a second ambulance had to be sent to pick her up.

2:10 p.m. A Hayden District Chevrolet Suburban reportedly had a gas leak in the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue. Officers said the driver did not know why the vehicle was leaking fuel. There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time. Authorities are looking into what may have caused the leak.

2:45 p.m. A man in the 3400 block of Whistler Road reported someone passing a Steamboat Springs Transit bus on a double-yellow line. Officers contacted the driver Saturday morning and issued him a ticket.

3:05 p.m. A woman in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue reported two girls sitting in a car and smoking marijuana out of a pipe. Officers did not contact the girls.

3:54 p.m. A woman in the 2900 block of Trails Edge reported someone stealing her keys out of her truck's ignition and kicking in parts of the truck's body.

8:26 p.m. A drunken teenager was taken to the hospital from Buckskin Drive.

10:26 p.m. A 43-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault in the 300 block of Sixth Street.

11:02 p.m. A woman fell down a flight of stairs in the 200 block of Storm Peak Court and hurt her head. The woman was taken to the hospital and was flown to Denver on Saturday morning.
