Meeting about wildlife issues is Wednesday
Colorado Wildlife Commissioner Tom Burke will host a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Steamboat Springs to gather comments and suggestions about hunting, fishing and other wildlife issues. The meeting will be held at the Steamboat office of the Colorado Division of Wildlife, 925 Weiss Drive.
Burke is one of 11 wildlife commissioners appointed by the governor. The commission sets DOW regulations and policies for hunting, fishing, watchable wildlife and non-game, threatened and endangered species. Chamber seeks volunteers for Winter Carnival events
The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is looking for volunteers to work Winter Carnival street events Feb. 11 and 12. Volunteers are needed from about 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. both days. Anyone interested in helping is asked to call Jody Anagnos at 879-0882, ext. 203.
Carnival street event registration opens Feb. 2
Registration to participate in the street events for the 93rd Winter Carnival opens Feb. 2 at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association's visitor's center, 1255 S. Lincoln Ave. Those interested in registering for an event are encouraged to do so early. The visitors center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Yampa Valley Medical Center seeking volunteers
