Steamboat Springs A 24-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested Sat--urday on suspicion of breaking into a home to commit a robbery that resulted in a resident being stabbed, police said. Another suspect was at large Saturday night.
Steamboat Springs police Detective Capt. Bob Del Valle said police were called to Westland Mobile Home Park at 2:30 p.m. Saturday to respond to a report of an armed robbery.
Del Valle said two Steamboat men wearing black ski masks broke into a mobile home, demanding money from the three residents. One man may have pulled a gun on the residents, Del Valle said. No shots were fired.
The two took about $300 and left, he said.
Del Valle said a resident fought with one of the suspected robbers and was stabbed in the hand with a knife. Del Valle said the man was not seriously injured.
The victim told police he thought he knew one of the men who robbed him, Del Valle said, which led police to the suspect's home.
Officers arrested Jared Dean Justice on suspicion of first-degree assault, first-degree burglary and aggravated robbery.
Del Valle wouldn't say whether Justice is the man they suspect of stabbing the resident. Justice told police where they could find the other suspect, Del Valle said.
Police think the at-large suspect was barricaded in a mobile home. As of 9:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were preparing an arrest warrant to allow them to enter the home, Del Valle said.
