Land trust to present annual report
Monday, February 6, 2006
The Routt County Board of Commissioners will review today annual reports regarding conservation easements and other protected lands.
Susan Dorsey Otis, executive director of the Yampa Valley Land Trust, will present to commissioners information about land trust officials' annual site visits.
When: 11 a.m. today
Where: Commissioners Hearing Room, courthouse annex, 136 Sixth St.
Dorsey Otis said Monday that the land trust has an agreement with Routt County to report information about annual visits. The visits are intended to monitor properties such as conservation easements, which often have requirements such as not building new roads. The site visits are primarily done by using aerial photographs of the properties, and officials also do follow-up visits, Dorsey Otis said.
The sites that will be discussed are:
n Carpenter Ranch
n Summer Ranch
n May S-Bar-S Ranch
n Stanko Ranch -- Hay Meadow
n Wilhelm Property
n Warren Ranch -- lower parcel
n Higby Ranch
n Combs/city of Steamboat Springs
n Sickels East and West
n Fulton Ranch
n Acord Ranch
n Turner-Trull Ranch
Commissioners also will hear a presentation from The Nature Conservancy's annual monitoring report for the Wolf Mountain properties.
