Passport fair at downtown post office

Steamboat Springs The Steamboat Springs Post Office is holding a passport fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its downtown location, 200 Lincoln Ave. The post office also accepts passport applications on weekdays throughout the year.
Passport applicants 18 and older must bring a completed application, a driver's license or government-issued photo identification and a birth certificate. Applicants who are 16 and 17 years old also must bring a photocopy of the driver's license of one of their parents and a signed letter from that parent authorizing the child to obtain a passport. These applicants must provide a $67 check made out to Passport Services and a $30 check made out to USPS.
Applicants who are 14 and 15 years old must bring a school or other form of photo identification, a photocopy of the driver's license of one of their parents, a signed letter from that parent authorizing the child to obtain a passport and two checks -- a $52 check made out to Passport Services and a $30 check made out to USPS. Applicants who are 13 years old and younger must have both parents present to apply for a passport.
The processing time for all applications is six weeks. Expedited processing is available for an additional fee. Call 879-8360 for more information.
