Steamboat hires two new planning employees

The city of Steamboat Springs has hired two new planning employees. Brian Berndt, who previously was the redevelopment and economic director of Tooele City, Utah, will serve as the city's assistant director of planning services. He starts Monday. Dave Gardner, a former employee of Raytheon Polar Services in Antarctica, is a building permit and code-enforcement technician. He began work in late January.

Gale appointed to water and sanitation board

Mount Werner Water and Sanitation District officials announced Wednesday that a new member has been appointed to the district's board of directors. Stephen Gale, 55, a retired mechanical engineer and corporate safety director, is as a volunteer at Steamboat Springs High School and a member of the board of directors of Everything Outdoors Steamboat.
