Steamboat Springs Northwest Colorado veterans with questions about eligibility, benefits and services provided to them can find answers this week.
Officials from the Grand Junction Veterans Administra-tion Medical Center, veteran service officers from Moffat and Routt counties, and staff members for U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar and U.S. Rep. John Salazar will host a "VA Enrollment Day" from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at American Legion Post #62 in Craig.
The Grand Junction VA Medical Center offers services to area veterans, but Thursday's meeting will allow interested veterans to enroll without having to drive to and from Grand Junction.
"There could be a VA hospital up in Northwest Colorado," said Cody Wertz, communications director for Sen. Salazar's office in Denver. "There is a thought that the more veterans who register, there may be more of a need for a facility up there."
Officials will be on hand to directly input the veterans' information into the VA network.
All veterans interested in knowing more about the wide array of services the VA offers, and especially those interested in enrolling into the Veterans Administration, are invited to attend.
Veterans looking to enroll should call Matthew McCombs at (970) 241-6631 or George Delahanty at (970) 245-7107.
The American Legion Post #62 office is at 1055 Moffat County Road 7 in Craig. The phone number is 824-3625.
