Q. When did you move to Routt County and what brought you here?

A. I moved to Routt County in January when an opportunity arose to join a progressive and professional law enforcement agency.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken recently?

A. Moving to a new town and not really knowing anyone. In retrospect, the people of Steamboat Springs had made the transition to a new town pretty easy.

Q. Describe your morning routine.

A. Well, I am currently on night shift, but when I do wake up, I spend time with my fiancee and do a light workout.


Q. Has a book ever changed your life? What was it and why?

A. "The Little Train that Could" ... because everything is possible.

Q. What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

A. If you think you know everything about law enforcement, it's time to get out of the field, because you get complacent.

Q. What are the first three things you tell new acquaintances about yourself?

A. I speak Spanish, I am easy going, and I try and make everything as enjoyable as possible.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A. A police officer. I started in the field of law enforcement at the age of 12 as an Explorer with the Fort Lupton Police Department.

Q. In the Meatloaf song, "I would do anything for love, but I won't do that," what is that?

A. Change who I am.

Q. What was your first job?

A. Taco Bell.

Q. Who is your favorite superhero? Why?

A. Superman, because he is Superman.

Q. Do you have a tattoo? If so, what of and why did you chose it?

A. Yes, I have a tattoo on my right arm. It is a tribal band with the letters USMC for my time spent in the Marine Corps.

Q. If you could go back in time, to what event or time period would you go?

A. About 20 years ago, to buy land in Routt County and make some money.
