SportReach camp offered for grades K though six

SportReach, a Christian youth sports camp, is being offered for all children entering kindergarten through sixth grades. Sports disciplines offered are basketball, soccer, football and cheerleading. The camp for third- through sixth-graders is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 9-11 and costs $55. The camp for kindergartners through second-graders is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 7-8 and costs $45. Penny Pages participants have until Aug. 11 for logs

Bud Werner Memorial Library would like to remind all children and teenagers participating in the "Penny Pages" summer reading program that they have until Aug. 11 to take their reading logs to the library. All extra reading recorded on Penny Pages reading logs will raise money for the FirstBook charity. Call the children's library at 879-0240 for more information.

LIFT-UP is in need of food bank donations

LIFT-UP of Routt County is in need of food donations for its food bank. The nonprofit organization is urging community members to donate food to the Steamboat food bank. Needed items include tuna, canned vegetables, canned beans, canned fruit, pancake mix, syrup, tomato sauce, canned tomatoes and personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner. Donations will benefit struggling local individuals and families. Donations can be dropped off at the food bank at Seventh and Aspen streets. For more information, call Erika at 870-8804.

Over the Hill Gang meets for hiking and biking

Steamboat's Over the Hill Gang will meet for activities weekly throughout the summer. Activities will include hiking on Mondays, mountain biking and gardening on Tuesdays, mountain biking on paved surfaces on Wednesdays, mountain biking on Thursdays and road biking on Fridays.
