Steamboat Grand names sales team
Karen Schneider has been named director of sales for the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel and Condominiums.
Elisabeth Mullen has been promoted to senior sales manager, and Joseph Ruggieri has joined the property as national sales manager.
"Karen brings a wide array of experience that covers all aspects of the sales arena, both on the hotel and resort side, as well as two decades of knowledge in the travel and hospitality industry," said Mike Lomas, general manager for the hotel.
Schneider, who was part of the opening team at the Steamboat Grand in 2000, most recently held the position of on-site manager for The Rock Slope and Steamboat Wine Festival, two large, specialty groups. Before her group work, she was sales manager for the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp.; sales manager of Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel; road show coordinator for Altour International; and general manager for National Travel Service in Los Angeles.
Mullen, who has been with the hotel as a national sales manager for three years, was promoted to senior sales manager. Mullen, who has nearly 15 years in the industry, began her career with American Airlines. She went on to spend four years in the leisure market working as a national sales manager for Weissmann Travel Reports, a division of Cahners Publishing Co. Before coming to the Steamboat Grand, she was one of the Broadmoor Hotel's national sales managers.
Ruggieri joins the hotel as national sales manager from The Canyons, where he worked in conference services and sales for the past four years. Before The Canyons, he worked as event manager for the Park City Marriott and held several positions with the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
