SmartWool adds Wiper as new vice president
SmartWool, based in Steamboat Springs, has announced the addition of Anne Wiper as its new vice president and general merchandising manager. Wiper was formerly the footwear merchandise director for Pearl Izumi, and a vice president at Salomon, where she managed the Salomon Design Center in Boulder.
SmartWool, a division of Timberland, manufactures outdoor wear from Merino wool.

"I am so excited about working with SmartWool," Wiper said. "I think the brand has such incredible potential, and it seems like a great time to be joining the company."
Yampa Valley Medical Center lab accredited
Yampa Valley Medical Center's clinical laboratory made a favorable impression on accreditation surveyors from the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists. The on-site, biennial inspection resulted in zero deficiencies and an accreditation renewal.
Laboratory Director Mary Poskus-Fell and Laboratory Medical Director William F. Cox Jr. said the surveyors were impressed by YVMC's laboratory services. "It's very rare to be given no deficiencies," Poskus-Fell said.
During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors from New Mexico examined the hospital lab's records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP surveyors also examined the staff's qualifications and the lab's equipment, management, safety program and record.
Poskus-Fell recognized the work of the lab's section supervisors: James Wirta, blood bank; Kristin Russell, chemistry; Brad Noble, microbiology; Maureen James-Caires, hematology; and Toni Bond, point of care and phlebotomy.
