Hospital's clinical lab earns accreditation
Yampa Valley Medical Center's Clinical Laboratory made a favorable impression on accreditation surveyors from the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists last week. The on-site, biennial inspection resulted in zero deficiencies and an accreditation renewal.
Laboratory Director Mary Poskus-Fell and Laboratory Medical Director William F. Cox., Jr., M.D., said the surveyors were impressed by YVMC's laboratory services. "It's very rare to be given no deficiencies," Poskus-Fell said. "The surveyors also mentioned that they plan to use some of our processes and procedures in their own hospitals."
