A car accident on Lincoln Avenue sent two Steamboat Springs residents to the hospital with minor injuries Friday afternoon.
Police Capt. Joel Rae said Anthony Lawrence, 38, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado west on Lincoln Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. when he apparently swerved into the outer lane of westbound traffic and then crossed traffic, hitting a woman in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee who was slowing to make a left turn onto 10th Street.
Tammy Jenkins, 40, was struck while she was driving as Lawrence entered the turn lane she occupied, Rae said.
Lawrence and Jenkins were taken by ambulance to the hospital, where they each were treated for minor scrapes, Rae said.
Rae did not think the drivers' injuries were serious. Rae said alcohol is not considered a factor in the accident. Lawrence was not cited for the accident, though officers plan to interview Lawrence on Saturday when he is released from the hospital, which will help determine whether he is cited.
Lawrence was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, Rae said. He did not know whether Jenkins was wearing a seat belt.
Rae said neither driver had a passenger, and no one else was injured in the accident. A third vehicle suffered minor damage when Lawrence swerved into westbound traffic before hitting Jenkins, Rae said.
The accident closed Lincoln Avenue for a short time as crews worked to move the vehicles away from traffic.
