Tickets now available for Bust of Steamboat
Tickets for the Bust of Steamboat are on sale now for $25. They are available at All That Jazz, Off the Beaten Path Bookstore and Farrow Repair. The Bust of Steamboat, from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28 at Three Peaks Bar and Grill, is an auction of 25 specially-designed artistic bras and a 2006 Steamboat Ski Area season pass.
The event raises money for the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project, particularly uninsured and underinsured women of the Yampa Valley who need mammograms or financial assistance for breast cancer treatment. For more information call Debbie Curd at 871-7907 or 879-2373.
Free program offered by Alzheimer's Association
The Alzheimer's Association is offering a program called the Memory Cafe for people with early-stage memory loss, their caregivers and family and friends.
The Memory Cafe provides an afternoon of music, dancing, food and fun at Yampa Valley Medical Center. The Memory Cafe is from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12 and provides a cafe setting for people with early-stage memory loss and their caregivers to socialize and receive support. Women's guild holding annual rummage sale
The Lutheran Women's Guild will hold its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 21 and from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 22. Items in good shape can be dropped off at Concordia Lutheran Church on Amethyst Drive near the Spring Creek trailhead. No tires, computers or large appliances will be accepted. Call 879-0175.
Beginning bead classes offered at Silver Lining
The Silver Lining is offering classes for beginning beaders. The two-hour classes are offered from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesdays and from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays. The cost is $20 a class. Call 879-7474.
