Newspaper promotes two into editor roles

The Steamboat Pilot & Today recently promoted Brent Boyer and Meg Wortman into editor roles with the newspaper.

Boyer has been named city editor at the Pilot & Today. As city editor, Boyer oversees the newspaper's reporters and is responsible for making story assignments, editing stories and planning the Sunday newspaper. Boyer replaces Melissa Roddy, who accepted a position as assistant metro editor with the Wilmington (Del.) News Journal.

Wortman has been promoted from lead copy editor to news editor. As news editor, Wortman oversees the newspaper's night copy desk staff and is responsible for the newspaper's page design, editing and editorial production.

Reporters, copy editor join Pilot & Today staff

The Pilot & Today has two new reporters and a copy editor. Dana Strongin joined the Steamboat Pilot & Today as a reporter covering city and county government. Strongin is a graduate of Kansas State University and worked for the Wichita (Kan.) Eagle before joining the Pilot.

Strongin may be reached at 871-4229. Alexis DeLaCruz, a recent graduate of the University of Colorado, also is a new reporter for the Pilot & Today. DeLaCruz covers law enforcement, the fire department and South Routt County.

Laura Meer--katz is a new copy editor at the newspaper. Meerkatz is a graduate of the Uni--versity of Nebraska and completed an internship with The Standard-Times of New Bedford, Mass.
