With the Nov. 1 election approaching, it's time for residents to get their voting plans in order.
The last day to register to vote in Routt County is Oct. 3. Voters who have moved to Routt County or between precincts in the county need to change their addresses by Oct. 4.
Residents must have lived in their current precinct at least 28 days by Nov. 1 to change their addresses. Otherwise, they need to vote in their former precincts.
Voters who have moved within precincts may change their addresses at their polling locations, Routt County election supervisor Vicki Weber said.
The Routt County Clerk's Office has rearranged voting precincts since the last election.
Some precincts were combined, and voters might have new polling locations.
In the south part of the county, residents in Toponas now will vote in Yampa, and Phippsburg residents will vote in Oak Creek.
A new precinct has been added in the Stagecoach area.
The clerk's office also eliminated polling locations in Milner and Slater, north of Clark. Milner voters will vote at one of two polling locations in Hayden, and Slater residents will vote in Clark.
The new precincts will not change county commissioner, special district or Steamboat Springs City Council boundaries.
In August, the clerk's office mailed residents cards verifying precincts and polling locations. Residents who still aren't sure where to vote should call the clerk's office at 870-5556.
A list of polling locations has been updated on the county's Web site, and a precinct map will be updated by Election Day, Weber said.
Residents who will be out of town Nov. 1 or who want to avoid the polls may vote early starting Oct. 17 in the Routt County Courthouse. Early voting ends Oct. 28.
Residents also may request absentee ballots. The last day to apply for a mailed ballot is Oct. 21.
Voters may apply for and pick up absentee ballots from the clerk's office until Oct. 28. Residents may pick up ballots only for themselves.
